- Grape varieties: 55% Syrah 45% Carménère
- Appellation: Maipo Valley - Trinidad Vineyard
- ABV: 13,5%
- Colour: Deep violet red with ruby tones at the rim.
- Aromas: This elegant and complex wine reveals notes of wild black berries, such as blackberries and blueberries, contributed by the Syrah, together with soft spicy noteslike black pepper and tobacco from the Carménère. The oak-ageing bringsgentle notes of vanilla and spices, while aromas of native forest contributecomplexity and character.
- Palate: In the mouth, this wine is concentrated, with crisp, refreshing acidity. It iswell-structured with firm, well-rounded tannins, which underpin a gentle, elegantbackground of French oak, in which vanilla and black chocolate intermingle withwild fruit.
- Aging: All of the wine was matured for 12 months in French oak barrels from Burgundy. 15%
of the Syrah was aged in new barrels, while 20% matured in second-use and 65% in
third- and fourth-use barrels. Just 10% of the Carménère was aged in new barrels, while
90% matured in second-, third- and fourth-use barrels.
Ageing potential This wine can be stored for 6 to 8 years in optimum conditions.
